[mailto:EaKiewra@syr.edu] Gus and Larry, We corresponded via e-mail a couple of years ago regarding our grandfathers and various relatives. I'm forwarding a couple of e-mails to you that have pages from the 1930 census attached to them. I did quite a bit of hunting through both the 1920 and 1930 census to try to find my grandfather Anthony, with no luck. Through some absolutely bizarre logic and with a little bit of help, I finally found him in the 1930 census, listed as Anthony Jiwra. He's on this first attachment on line 9. If you look down to line 26, you'll see Mike Kira. It must have been a real challenge for these census takers to communicate with these old Polacks. The attachment on the second e-mail has William Kiewra listed on line 7. This may not provide any new information ,but I thought it was pretty interesting, anyway. Hope all is well with you. Ed Edward A. Kiewra |
